International Student Placement — Florida & Beyond

Florida High School Exchange.
We make it
more than just

a year abroad.

Many families lose months to paperwork, wrong advice, and providers who disappear after you sign up. For over 10 years we've done it differently: we take time for your child, we listen, and together we build a path that truly fits.

We don't place your child wherever a bed happens to be free — we find the family that truly fits and look after both sides so it works.

Anyone can send you a list. We show up. We know every school we recommend — because we've been there. And once you're there, we don't disappear. From day one to your last day — we're in it with you.
"
If a school doesn't meet our standards — regardless of commission, size, or location — it doesn't make our list.
Because the wrong school can break a dream as fast as the right one builds it. Your child deserves nothing less than schools we'd send our own children to.
How It Works

Three Steps to a Florida Exchange — No Detours.

We've done this hundreds of times. Here's what it actually looks like — from the first nervous phone call to the graduation photo.

01
The Conversation That Starts It All

No forms yet. No pressure. Just a real conversation about your child — their personality, their goals, their fears. We listen more than we talk.

Free · Confidential · No commitment
02
The Match That Feels Right

We don't assign students to schools and families. We want to know your child — not by doing paperwork, but by talking and listening. Then we match them.

Personal · Considered · Exact
03
We Never Disappear

We see you, we see parents at home, we see the student. We listen, and we show up personally. Always. We don't vanish, we don't pass you on. 24/7 support — because you matter.

24/7 support · Always reachable

Host Families

Not a Room.
A Family.

Some of our host families have welcomed 10+ students over the years. They keep coming back because we do this right.

We've seen what happens when a student is placed with the wrong family — and we've made it our mission to make sure it never happens.

  • Background checks and home visits — every time, no exceptions
  • Long conversations to find families who genuinely want a new member at their table
  • Students who came for a semester have stayed in touch for decades
  • That's not a placement — that's a bond

The Moments That Tell the Real Story

We could write our own marketing copy. Instead, here's what families actually said — in their own words, about the moments that mattered most.

★★★★★
Homesick — but Not Alone.

"Our son was struggling with nerves and homesickness on day one. The coordinator stepped in, normalized his feelings, and personally escorted him. This small gesture made him feel secure and far from alone."

Florida Stories

Real days, real moments.

An exchange year isn't a brochure — it's a day in May, an air show, a sound in the sky. A few moments, captured by our students.

FAQ

The Questions Every Parent Actually Asks

We've heard every concern. Here are the honest answers.

How are host families selected and vetted?
Background checks, home visits, and face-to-face interviews — every time, no exceptions. We've turned down families that didn't feel right, even when we needed placements urgently. Your child's safety is not negotiable.
What if a student has a problem with their host family?
We have a coordinator available 24/7 — not a voicemail, a real person. Problems are addressed the same day. If a placement isn't working, we move the student. No drama, no delay.
What academic support do students receive?
We track grades, stay in contact with teachers, and connect students with tutoring when needed. We catch problems early — before they become failures.
How do parents stay informed?
Regular updates, direct coordinator contact, and honest reporting. If something goes wrong, you hear it from us first — not from your child in a panic.
Which visa do we need and how do you help?
It depends on program length, type, and your situation. This is a question we must discuss individually.
Your Child's Story Is Waiting to Be Written

Every student who came through SIDO started exactly where you are right now.

Curious, a little nervous, and full of potential. The first step is just a conversation. No commitment. No pressure. Just a chance to explore what's possible.
